The Brandywine Friends of Old Time Music presented an excellent and diverse Saturday lineup at the 46th edition of the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival in Woodstown, NJ last weekend. In order, the day’s performers were: Tuba Skinny, The Becky Buller Band, Danny Paisley & the Southern Grass, Charm City Junction, The Grascals, and the evening’s headliner, The Del McCoury Band.
It was a soggy Saturday, with the remnants of Hurricane Harvey hanging over southern New Jersey for most of the day. But folks stayed dry and cheerful under the covered main stage at the Salem County Fairgrounds, and the rain had cleared by the end of the evening program. One festival-goer was heard to remark that of course the skies would clear for Mr. McCoury, the elder statesmen of bluegrass music.
